 About CSS

Trinity's collaborative art studio began serving artists and those interested in art in October 2006. The studio is run by Helen Stone, Trinity Covenant Church's Deaconess, and Jackie Locantore, CSS Resident Artist. Covenant Sanctuary Studio is a community open to all individuals who wish to meet periodically at Trinity Covenant Church, in order to explore the concept of creativity and to practice or learn about art. As we are all created in the image of God, we learn to tap into each of our own creative gifts ~ Sometimes with the encouragement of other creatively expressive artists.

All are welcome to participate, observe, inquire about or teach an art. This is a ministry of Trinity Covenant Church and there is no charge for the use of the studio or for brunch and lunch. The studio is stocked with many art supplies. Bring your own supplies & equipment or use the studio's to explore a new craft / art or to teach one.

The name, Covenant Sanctuary Studio was born in the hope, belief and dream of creating a safe haven for people to come and explore their own creativity. The word Covenant reflects our relationship with the Father and Creator of the universe. The Church is called to be a Sanctuary which offers peace and a sense of belonging in fellowship with each other & God. Thus the purpose of Covenant Sanctuary Studio is to build a community of people, who are willing to explore and develop their unique creative gifts given by God, the Father of light and life, in an atmosphere of non-judgment.

Art Studio Instructor, Jackie Locantore has a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Bridgewater State College. Jackie grew up closely involved in the arts as her mother's family has been running a Boston art gallery for six generations. She is a certified polymer clay instructor and is listed in the Polymer Clay International Teacher's Directory and has been actively involved in creating and teaching art for 30 years. Her unique gifts include oil painting, photography, macramé, quilting, stained glass, polymer clay, gem stone, and beaded jewelry.

Helen Stone has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Bridgewater State College. For the past twenty-six years, she has been a lay minister working with domestic violence victims, trauma victims (adults who experienced childhood trauma) and the homeless. In 2004, she was ordained as Deaconess at Trinity Covenant Church. Covenant Sanctuary Studio was conceived in the belief that art can be healing and restorative and that we grow emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically when we become part of a supportive community. Helen's creative gifts include crocheting, sewing, polymer clay mosaics and creative journaling. Helen is our spiritual director exploring the concept of art journaling as therapy. For spiritual inspiration, visit Helen's Corner at Trinity Covenant Church.
